The film costume designer has described about Bane’s costume. The mask, near his mouth,
is connected the two pipes which are connected to two canisters (cylinder) on his back, the canister contains a gas which keeps Bane alive. It is rumored that it is Venom.

In his earlier years, Bane had met with a big accident, and now he cannot live with out the gas. Due to the use of Venom, Bane has a lot of Acne on his body; it’s a steroidal side effect.
